*You may need Adobe Reader to open the brochures.

Summer Pre-Kindercare Registration begins on Wednesday, May 12th, 2010 (registrations submitted before this date will be returned). If your child is attending Kindergarten in September 2010, you may submit your letter of request* with your Summer Pre-Kindercare Registration Form. Your child's registration will be accepted upon approval from our Licensing office and based on space availibility.

*Because Pre-Kindergarteners are not yet attending school, they are not considered school age children. Thus, our Licensing office requires a written letter of request stating that your child will be attending Kindergarten in the fall and your child's need for JKC summer care as opposed to a 3-5yr olds' program (i.e.: benefits, siblings, proximity, programming, etc.).

Field Trip Departures and Returns

Our programs often have very tight time constraints. Please ensure children are at the program by 9:00 am as we usually plan to leave for our field trips by 9:30 am.

Our program is often exploring different parts of the lower mainland using public transportation and a community bus. Occasionally traffic congestion, bus schedules, forgotten belongings and other factors make it a challenge to maintain our arrival times.

Punctuality is important to us and tops our list, but sometimes we do not arrive at the centre at the exact time we have posted.

Most days we will be back by 4:30 p.m. and for longer trips we will post a notice of the estimated time of arrival.

Please give us 15 minutes leeway on our posted travel times, just to be safe. Thank you in advance for your understanding! We appreciate it!

Safety - Our Primary Focus

While in our care, every child's safety and well-being is our primary focus. First aid kits, emergency information and allergy and medical alerts are kept at the centre and taken on all field trips. Jericho Kids Club ensures that all staff have current First Aid certification and are familiar with our comprehensive Emergency Procedures Manual. We strive to make our program adventurous while following safety standards and guidelines.

Camp Byng

One of the highlights of our summer is the trip to Camp Byng (a 200-acre campground on the Sunshine Coast). We leave on the Wednesday morning and return tired, dusty and happy on Friday afternoon. Because we have a limited number of spaces available, priority is given to children who are attending all summer. Camp Byng is open for Crusaders (grade 3) and Leaders (grades 4-7) only. Download our Camp Byng Parent Package!

Snacks and Lunches

JKC provides nutritious snacks and lunches during the summer program...Yummy! If your child requires more food than we provide or a specific diet, you may prefer to send food from home. Please only send nutritious food and healthy drinks. Do not send candy or junk food!

T-Shirts & Hats

Jericho Kids Club has specially designed T-shirts and hats for children to wear when participating in activities out of the centre. The shirts and hats help us to easily identify Kids Club members as well as protect the kids from the sun. Shirts and hats are kept at the centre and distributed before leaving on field trips.
